Location: Northwest Columbus
Park area runs from Dam, north to Lane Road on East side of reservoir. Bike/driving trail runs along river for entire length ( 2.25 mi). Boat launch and parking lots south of Fishinger Road Bridge. With nearby nature preserves, boating, and disc golf courses this park is ideal for sunbathers, hikers, athletes, picnickers and children. Parking areas and picnic tables located throughout park with several access points from Riverside Drive.
The dam was dedicated in 1905, named in honor of Julian Griggs, who was chief engineer for the City of Columbus for many years. Mr. Griggs died in 1922.
Since Griggs Reservoir Park is situated along the river, it is well-known by boaters and fishers. The boat launches are located south of Fishinger Road at Nottingham. For those who are looking to picnic, hike or to simply explore, there is public parking and picnic areas available throughout the park.
