This five week group instruction program on Wednesdays are for ages 10-18 at 4:00PM or 5:00PM. Classes are one hour long and limited to the first 50 paid students per session. The cost is $50 per student. Fundamentals such as full swing, putting, chipping, pitching, and bunker play will be taught along with life skills such as etiquette, sportsmanship, honesty, and playing by the rules. For only $185, you will get a team golf shirt with your number on the back, golf balls, a PGA JLG bag tag, six practices with your team coach (a PGA professional) including instruction, five 9-hole competitions and a chance to be named to the all star team representing Columbus in the regional and possibly the national championships. Each competition is a two person scramble played from the family tees and teams consist of kids ages 8-13, both boys and girls. Columbus Recreation and Parks Department in partnership with Mayor Coleman’s Twilight Ride welcomes local Latin jazz favorite Yumbambé to Bicentennial Park on Fri., July 12 at 8 p.m. for a free performance as part of the Rhythm on the River series. Food and beverages will be available for purchase beginning at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.Yumbambé is Latin Jazz, bringing together the lush sound of jazz harmony with the vibrant rhythms of Afro-Cuban drumming. Lead by Eric "the FISH" Paton, Yumbambé floats the greats of the Jazz standard collection on the tide of Latin rhythm and culture that has splashed the shores of popular music for decades.
