    Need a mid-day boost? Join the Cultural Arts Center for “Conversations & Coffee”, a free event held every Thursday of the month from noon until 1:00 pm. Simply bring a sack lunch, and come enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee while artists present examples and/or slides of their work. 
    The 2010 Open Garden Tour Program, sponsored by the Horticultural Sub-Commission of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, announces 2 individual gardens open to the public in a free tour from noon - 5 p.m. on Sun., August 8. For more information, please call Karen Torvik at 262-3010.

    Free nutritionally balanced lunches are provided during the summer months at no cost at community centers and various agencies. Last summer over 300,000 children were served. Meals are served to anyone age one - 18 years, times vary per site. Call 645-3642 for more information.

    Fishing Classes

    Fishing classes will be held every Friday, June 18 - August 6 from 10am - 12 noon for children ages 6 -14 at the following recreation sites: Krumm, Linden, Schiller, Westgate, Whetstone. All supplies (bait, pole, tackle) are provided, but you can bring your own supplies if you would like. Children who attend are eligible for special trips to Lake Erie or Hargus Lake. Register at any of the sites listed. The program is free, but space is limited.

    AIDSWalk Central Ohio

    AIDSWalk Central Ohio (formerly AIDSWalk Columbus) stepped off for the first time over 20 years ago. The original event was a collaboration of six local HIV/AIDS agencies. The event has since grown to benefit Franklin, Delaware, Licking, and Union Counties. The event has raised community awareness of the devastation caused by this disease in Central Ohio by reaching beyond the traditional audiences to families, businesses, schools and civic organizations.
